  We need help! The Hulls Cove Schoolhouse was built in 1909, retired as a school after the Second World War to become a neighborhood community center. In 1998 efforts were started to restore deteriorating parts of the building. The building was placed on both the National Historic Register and the Maine Register of Historic Places in 2000. Rental activities generally pay our annual expenses, but repairs and improvements require money from other sources. Restoration has been made to retain the character of the old Schoolhouse. Having stabilized and restored the basic structure over the past decade, the Directors borrowed money in the spring of 2009 to refurbish the century-old bathrooms--which enhance every activity scheduled at the Schoolhouse. A handicap ramp has been added and a handicap restroom on the main level has been recently completed. A new propane heating system has also been recently installed. Future projects include replacing old electric wiring, upgrading the electrical system to 200amp service, and improving the driveway/parking area. To that end, tax-deductible donations to the Hulls Cove Neighborhood Association (HCNA) of any amount are welcomed and can be sent to:
